  • What is Swing Plane?

    What is Swing Plane?

    Swing Plane

Swing Plane is the plane of movement of the golf club during the swing.
There are 3 types of Swing Planes:

    1. Shoulder plane
    2. Elbow plane
    3. Shaft plane

It is like an inclined plane starting from the golf ball up to the shoulder, elbow and along the shaft of the golf club.
If the golf club moves along this plane consistently, golfer would hit the ball more accurately and consistently.

📐 How we swing according to the Swing Plane.

    1. Correct swing plane (On Plane)
      • The clubface moves along the set plane.
      • Hitting the ball straight and controlling the ball well
    2. Swing plane too low (Too Flat)
      • Swing around too much Or put the club back too much.
      • It makes the ball hook (Hook) or push (Push) to the right.
    3. Swing plane is too steep (Too Upright / Over the Top)
      • Put the club down from outside the plane too much
      • It makes the call slice (Slice) or pull (Pull) to the left

Swing plane is a very important foundation to start or practice to make us hit consistently because Swing Plane has a direct impact on our Club Path.

  • How to hit Driver well and far.

How to hit Driver well and far.

    How to hit Driver.

Driver is an important golf club because it is one of the equipment that we use very often.
Except Par 3 hole, we almost have to start playing each hole with this club. Therefore, it is very important to hit well in order to play the next shot more easily and get a good score.

So what should we do??? In order to get good results, which is actually very important, try following this checklist.

    1. The set up of Driver will be different from other clubs. Stand slightly wider than usual, tilt the body and shoulders to the right, the position of the golf ball must be in a plane close to the left heel.
    2. Backswing will feel wider and flatter than other equipment (due to the length of the club as well).
    3. The angle of impact and the lowest point of the club head must be at the right angle. The angle of impact should be an upward angle. The club head when hits the golf ball is like an angle of an airplane that takes off. Consequently, the lowest point of the club head will be before hitting the golf ball.
    4. The right club path and face angle in order to control the direction of the golf ball.
    5. Practice applying the right force for a longer distance.

From my past experience, I can tell you that if you have a good foundation, hitting Driver well and far is not too difficult.

  • What is Low Point Distance in Trackman?

What is Low Point Distance in Trackman?

    Low Point Distance

What is Low Point Distance in Trackman?
Our golf swing is in a curve. The low point will explain where the curved and lowest point of the golf club in our swing is, compared to the impact point. It is another way to explain the Attack angle.

How is Low Point Distance in Trackman displayed?
The low point distance in Trackman will show the distance between the impact point and the lowest point of the club in inches. It will also tell you whether the lowest point of the club is before or after the impact.

    How important is Low Point?
If we have the wrong Low Point for each club, we will have bad ball contact. For example, if we use an iron, the appropriate Low Point should be after impact. In other words, the lowest point of the club should be in front of the golf ball. On the contrary, the Low Point distance of the Driver should be before impact.

  • Club Path / Club Face / Face to Path – 3 Key Data Parameters That Help You Understand Your Golf Ball’s Flight

Club Path / Club Face / Face to Path – 3 Key Data Parameters That Help You Understand Your Golf Ball’s Flight

Club Path / Club Face / Face to Path
Club Path / Club Face / Face to Path

A question I often get asked is: “how can I hit the ball straight?” The answer to hitting straight or understanding why you’re not hitting straight involves many factors.

However, **Trackman** provides three main metrics that explain ball flight:

    – Club Path

    – Club Face

    – Face to Path

     **Club Path**

This refers to the direction the clubhead is moving (right or left) **at impact**, measured relative to the **target line** (which is set at 0 degrees).

In Trackman, there are two key measurements:

    – **In-to-out (positive value):** The clubhead moves from inside the target line to outside. Golfers with this swing path tend to hit a **Draw**.

    – **Out-to-in (negative value):** The clubhead moves from outside the target line to inside. This often produces a **Fade** or **Slice**.

    **Club Face**

This indicates the direction the clubface is pointing (right or left) **at impact**, measured relative to the **target line**.

    For right-handed golfers:

    – **Closed Face (negative value):** The ball starts **left** of the target.

    – **Open Face (positive value):** The ball starts **right** of the target.

    **Face to Path**

This is the **difference** between the **Face Angle** and **Club Path**, which determines:

    – The **initial direction** of the ball

    – The **expected curvature** (e.g., Slice, Hook, Draw, Fade)

**For those who want to minimize curve or hit straighter shots,** I recommend keeping **Face to Path within ±3 degrees**.

  • How to start playing golf in a right and sustainable way.

How to start playing golf in a right and sustainable way.

Learn golf & develop in a long term
Learn golf & develop in a long term

Recently, there are more people interested in golfing because Thai female golfers have been performing well continuously. Additionally, many celebrities and influencers have been playing golf more.
Therefore, this has drawn people’s attention to golfing. But how should we start playing golf???
I would like to give some brief advice for yourfuture in golfing and that you don’t get discouraged too early.

Starting to play golf in the right and sustainable way requires a good swing foundation, including good swing techniques, choosing the right equipment, understanding the rules, and practicing regularly.

    1. Learn the basics from experts (Professional golfers)
Learn the basics and postures (Grip, Stance, Posture, Swing) so that we have the correct swing and posture from the beginning. If we practice the wrong way, it can become a habit that is difficult to fix, which can lead to injuries.
    2. Choose the right equipment
There are many types of golf clubs. If we choose without knowledge, it may be difficult to develop our skills. Initially, I would like to recommend irons or drivers that are in the Game improvement group.
    3. Practice key skills in all aspects
Swing: Focus on developing the swing by analyzing the posture from the video and reading the values from the launch monitor to set goals. Then continue practicing in the driving range after practicing the swing.

Putting: Find a place where you can practice reading the line and speed of the green.

Short game (Chipping/Pitching): Practice the technique of controlling the ball to fall at the desired distance. Learn to control the running or stopping of the ball

Rules and etiquette: Golf is a sport with clear rules. We should understand it for a fun and correct golf game without embarrassing anyone. And another important thing is golf etiquette. Because golf is a sport that requires sharing the place with other players, we should understand and maintain good manners.

    1. Practice regularly
Every sport relies on training. No matter how much the golfers or beginners understand the swing, they might not perform well. What matters is the process or technique, which is not a skill. Sports or expertise requires training, plus the correct steps and techniques.

I recommend to study with a knowledgeable coach in order to start on the right track. Golf is a sport that you can play throughout your life. It also helps develop both your body and concentration. Have fun playing golf!!!

  • What is Club Speed?

    What is Club Speed?

    What is Club Speed?
How to make your swing faster?
I believe that the first term that most golfers know and has a direct impact on the distance of each club is the Club Speed .

First, let’s understand the basic of Club Speed or the speed of the golf club head. TRACKMAN will capture the speed of the club head before hitting the ball (Impact) in miles per hour (MPH).
Club Speed has a direct impact on the distance of the golf ball,
and those who have fast Club Speed have a chance to hit the ball far. An increase in Club Speed for every 1 MPH will create a possibility to hit the ball with a Driver up to 3 yards further.

Average Club Speed of professional golfers

    • PGA Tour (Men)
    • Driver: 115 MPH → Carry average 282 yards
    • 6 iron: 94 MPH → Carry average 188 yards
    • LPGA Tour (Women)
    • Driver: 96 MPH → Carry average 223 yards
    • 6 iron: 80 MPH → Carry average 155 yards

The club that should be practiced to increase Club Speed is the Driver because it is the club that all golfers want to hit the furthest.
For those who want to increase Club Speed, let’s first examine ourselves to see how much the maximum speed of the club head (Driver) is. How much do we want to increase?
Let’s say we swing the club head at a maximum speed of 90 MPH. We want to set a goal to increase the speed from the original to 95 MPH, which is 5 MPH more than the original. The chance to do it right away is difficult.
But when we can increase the maximum club speed from 90 MPH to 95 MPH, it will be easy to return to hitting the club speed at 90 MPH immediately.
Similarly, a person whose club speed used to be at a maximum of 110 MPH, if they can increase the club speed to 115, swinging at a speed of 110 MPH will not be difficult anymore.

*The key to training to increase club speed is
Practice swinging at the maximum speed without hitting the ball (swinging quickly into the wind) alternating with hitting the real ball to let the body get used to the movement of swinging the club fast.
No need to care about which way the ball goes or whether it hits well. The goal is to increase the club speed only because we want to unleash our own potential, understand the force, and discover techniques to swing the club faster.

From my experience with students or golfers who have high club speed and can hit the ball far, they will have the following characteristics:

    • Strong and flexible muscles. Each joint has good mobility (Joint Mobility)
    • The order of force exerted during the Downswing is well-ordered, starting from the hips, chest, arms, and finally the hands.
    • Use appropriate equipment, such as a golf club shaft that is not too hard or heavy.
    • Hitting the ball not that hard but has a high distance and Club Speed 👍

People with low Club Speed will have the following characteristics:

    • Exerting force incorrectly, such as Early Release, loosening the wrist, and exerting force too quickly.
    • Feeling like exerting a lot of force but not hitting far, Club Speed does not increase.

    Summary

    • Club Speed is the speed of the club head hitting the ball, which directly affects the distance.
    • Increase speed with swing technique + training + physical condition.
    • Set a goal to increase by 5 MPH at a time to make the original speed feel easier.
    • Practice swinging fast, increase the Club Speed without worrying about the direction in the beginning.

Try using this training concept and you will definitely hit farther! 🚀
